Using command prompt during running script

I want to create an "infinite loop" matlab script, but change certain parameters using the command prompt during execution.
A simple test showed exactly what I feared: The command prompt dissapears during execution of the script.
Is it possible to still use the command prompt while running a script? If Yes how can I set this up? (2 threads or temporarily changed "focus" between script and prompt)

Ahhh. Then you want to use timer functions. They have a bit of a learning curve but are exactly what you're after. I believe there is a function called daqtimer, timerplot or similar that would be a good demo example for you.
(I'm on a Mac at home and don't have Data Acquisition on this laptop)
