"Error occurred during model compile" appears every second time I try to run Simulink model

Hello,

I am working with MATLAB/Simulink 2018b.

I get the error: "Error occurred during model compile." everytime I make a change to the code and try to run the model.

BUT, if I ignore it and try running it again, without making even one single change, there is no error and the model runs.

It is very annoying. What could be the reason? How do I stop it from happening again?

I have exactly the same problem. It happens when I saved my Simulink model from 2018b to a model that is compatible with older Matlab versions. I was running ModeFrontier which runs Matlab in background in a server, for the first few hundred runs, most simulation were fine. But such error became more and more frequent for latest runs. To me it looks like a memory problem since I have a lot of Matlab (with two different versions) running in background.
