change gui components properties from command window or other m file

Hey All

I have a problem while modifying gui components like string property of the edit text box from another m file. I have two files one is elevator_interface.m which (gui m file developed through guide)and other is algo.m. I need to modify the string property of the edit text box in the elevator_interface.m from algo.m

Check out Doug's guide on interaction between different GUIs. You can easily share variables (and in your case probably the handles structure) with setappdata/getappdata.
