I am using Windows10 and Matlab 2017b. I wanted to open m-files by just clicking on them, so I followed the steps described below:
https://uk.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/94655-how-do-i-associate-file-types-with-a-certain-application For Windows 8, Windows 10, and if the file extension is not in a list of file extensions:
1. Right click on any .m file in Windows and select Open With.
2. Select the More Apps option to show a full list of programs installed on your computer.
3. Select MATLAB and make sure the box at the bottom is checked that says "Always use this app to open .m files"
Now, clicking the m-file opens the MATLAB application GUI, but it doesn't open the m-files themselves. When I am already using the MATLAB and just want to open a m-file, still clicking the m-file open the new MATLAB GUI, without opening the m-file script. To open the m-file script, I need to change the current folder (of MATLAB GUI) to click the m-file there.
Any good idea to solve this problem? Thank you so much!
Yuriko
