how to make the mecanum wheel robot move to a desired position?

hello, i'm traying to build a mecanum wheel robot. so far i have make the robot move by controlling its velocity (Vx,Vy,W). and the next step is to make the robot move from a position A to a desired positon B. it will be a lot of help if you could tell me the steps to make the mecanum wheel robot move to a desired position? thank you.
