Do you need Pixel Spacing DICOM metadata in order to volume visualize?

DO you know if it is necessary that Dicom Images need to have Pixel Spacing into their metadata tags in order to be eligible for 3d reconstruction? I have several dicom images that do not have metadata, still they can be 3d visualized using some algorithms but cannot using others.

So my point is, Is PixelSpacing a required value for this purpose or not?

That depends on the modality. Some viewers/processors will assume the Pixel Spacing property to be [1 1 1] if it is missing, so that might be the reason some viewers do succeed.
