I can't create symbolic variable in matlab

Hello

I can't create symbolic variable in matlab.

I use syms x or sym('x') command and matlab get busy for hours!!!

finally i have to shut down my laptop!

my matlab version was 2017b and addition that i installed maple and after that i faced this problem.

Now i installed 2018a but problem didn't solved.

what should i do?

Hi,

there are some Problems since the Windows update regarding symbolic toolbox in 2017b & 2018a. See here:

Meanwhile there is an update to matlab - try this:
