How to make Matlab default app to open m files with matlab R 2018a on windows 10?

Since I installed Matlab 2018a, my .m files do not open with Matlab anymore and Matlab is not in the list of choices of applications to open them. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling already... I also followed the steps indicated here: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/362994-matlab-default-app-to-open-m-files However, in bin there is no matlab.exe

Look in the File Exchange for "file association fix"

It's exactly the same for me, and the "file association fix" doesn't work, I don't know what to do.

Hi Luca,

Try putting the file in: C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2018a\associateFiles

And then reboot the computer. I forgot the exact steps but since the file is there it does open .m files.
