Why does MATLAB Connector fail to connect MATLAB Mobile with MATLAB Online?

I am trying to use the connector to connect MATLAB Mobile on my phone to my MATLAB Online, but when I run

in MATLAB Online, it gives me the following error:

MATLAB Mobile is no longer supported with desktop MATLAB, use MATLAB Online instead.

Why is the connector not working?

You do not need to use the connector in order to use MATLAB Mobile connected to the MathWorks cloud. Once the MATLAB Mobile application opens, a message should load stating "Connecting to MathWorks Cloud". MATLAB Mobile should automatically connect.

The connector is used for connecting MATLAB Mobile to your installed, desktop MATLAB. However this functionality for connecting MATLAB Mobile to MATLAB Desktop is no longer supported, resulting in the error message shown.

It is now 2025, and these connectors are no longer compatible with newer versions. We highly hope to get compatibility support, as the new versions are performing very unstably.
