video from image file

Is it possible to create a video file using a set of images in MATLAB? I tried doing it using an external software, but when I used just 20 images and made a video file with 1 second duration for each image file, there were more than 300 frames in the output video file. Is there any way to create a video file where total number of frames in the video file is equal to the number of images given as input?
