From a structure find the number of rows with a certain character

In a structure there is a column having characters of (LB, LL). How can I find how many LB and LL are there?

What to you mean? Do you want to find if a field in the structure has then names LB or LL or do you want to go through all your structure fields and see if one contains those strings?

KSSV it is a long process to get that structure. Just imagine there a structure (S), having a field name Type among many other fields. Type has many rows and each row contain whether LB or LL. and I just want to find how many LB and LL are there?

field = 'type';
value = A;
s = struct(field,value);

LB_quant = sum(s.type(:,2)=='B') %number of 'LB' in array type of struct s
LL_quant = sum(s.type(:,2)=='L') %number of 'LL' in array type of struct s
