Identification of plot and the possibility of creating it in MatLab

I have a rather large data set and need a way to visualize it. It was suggested to me that a graph/plot such as the one found at babynamewizard babynamewizard would be quite helpful.
Now it does look like a fascinating thing, but is something like that even possible to make in MatLab? Currently I'm going through the motion of creating bargraphs by hand. I do it by hand because I need to explicitly control which entry in what column of a very large matrix gets a certain color. However it is quite tedious.
So can anyone a) Identify the name of such a plot? b) Propose or otherwise identify a method in MatLab which allows me to do this? c) A name of a program (not matlab) which will allow me to create such a plot?

I do not like to run a SWF script from an unknown web page, which offers "become a member", "sign up", "sign up now", "login", "newsletter" together with this sentence in the terms of use: "This means that once you have become an annual subscribing member (also known as a Baby Name Wizard Expert Name Enthusiast Supporting Member), your subscription will be automatically renewed and your billing choice will be charged."
Because I have the impression, that posting this link is an advertisment, I ask you to remove the link by editing your question and post a picture instead.
Is posting such a link spamming?
Don't know, Jan, but thank you for the warning about the site. Casper, please follow Jan's advice -- I'd like to help, but there's no way I'm navigating to the kind of site that Jan describes. How about you post the code you currently have, or something similar, so we can see what you're trying to achieve?
A less advertise-y way to have done this would be to take a screenshot of the image you are trying to duplicate, and display that only.
It is not necessary to sign up to the sight to view the graphic.
The site is one of the better ones in terms of tools for searching for names matching particular criteria.
I do not know the name of the plot, but it is a variety of stacked plot that looks like geological formations, with the width of individual segments shrinking or growing according to the value for that bar.

It looks like area will do the trick.

EDIT: I'll display the image here. Click on Markup help to see how this is done.

I realize now that it was a studpid thing to do to link to a random web-site. For clarification this is a screenshot of the graph I was referring to: http://www.nonplayercharacter.dk/babywizard.JPG
The inclusion of the image might not been optimal but apparently that's the best I can do in Chrome and the Markup help.
As far as including the code that would be more confusing than anything else. It was a mess of 200 lines of not-so-pretty-data.
To round off this topic however I'm glad that Andrews suggestion seemed to do the trick.
Thanks a lot.

You could edit your original question and replace the link by the picture using the double < < and > >. Remember, that your question will be readable here for the next years.
