Spectrum sensing using DFT filterbank

"The concept of analysis filter bank is an array of bandpass filters as shown in Fig.2. Each bandpass filter is the frequency-shifted version of a lowpass filter H0(ω) with impulse response of h(n) with the length L which is called a prototype filter. The mathematical expression of m-th band of the filter bank is given by
hm(n) = h(n)W(−mn,M) (m = 0, 1, ...,M − 1)
where WM=e^(-j2*pi/M) and M is the number of sub bands."
I really dont understand how this equation is working or have a clue on how to implement this.
Can anyone please give me a piece of information, to start with !
just a start or an easier piece of information.

This is a signal processing theory question, not a MATLAB question. It would be better to address it to a resource that deals with signal processing.
