Raspberry pi 3 no longer boots from sd after downloading matlab support package

I installed the NOOBS package onto a blank sd card and put it into the raspberry pi and installed the software and set up the raspberry pi properly and made it go to the desktop by default. When I insert the sd card into my computer it has two parts to it "boot" and "RECOVERY". When I set up the matlab package for raspberry pi and it asks me to press write for the sd card it gives me an error saying to reinsert the card. When I do that the "RECOVERY" part of the sd card is gone and all that remains is the "boot" portion of the sd. When I press the write button next it works but then when I insert the sd card back into the raspberry pi the pi doesn't even turn on and there is no green light indicating it is reading the sd card. Why is matlab deleting the files on the sd card needed to boot up the pi!? How do I fix this!?

MATLAB support package for raspberry pi flashes a custom OS image on the SD card. Before it flashes the OS it erases all the contents on the SD card.
In the MATLAB command window execute >> targetupdater
and complete all the hardware setup steps.
Once the steps are completed, We should be able to communicate with the the pi board.
Ensure you have chosen the appropriate board type in the 'targetupdater '.
