Missing Axes In MATLAB App Designer

Hey there, I'm running into a strange problem while trying to use the MATLAB App Designer.
I have a number of tabs, each with their own axes which are being used to display various images. While that works fine, sometimes the axes themselves just disappear and I am unable to display images in them or see them without clicking on their position in the app designer. Sometimes it will display all of the axes such as in the first figure, but other times it will be missing one or more as shown in the second picture. Is there any way to fix this?

Hi Colby,
Unfortunately, you ran into a limitation of the rendering system that's used for App Designer in that there is a limitation on the number of 2D Axes that it can display at one time. The limit is somewhere around 16 total in one MATLAB session.

I have similar issues. I have 2 axes. While exportgraphics of one, the other will disappear. Still don't know how to fix it.

I wonder whether the "around 16" limit still applies ?
