How do I apply a template to slides that I am creating from Matlab? How do I change the slide between standard and wide?

Here is a small example code that works for me with MATLAB R2016a and I have PowerPoint 2016.

ppt = actxserver('powerpoint.application');
ppt.Visible = 1;
ppt.Presentation.invoke;
p = ppt.Presentation.Add;
p.ApplyTheme('C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Document Themes 16\Facet.thmx');

Also you can refer to the Microsoft Developer Reference on this link for more information. The slide object has the ApplyTheme and ApplyTemplate method. I hope this helps!
