I try to install matlab 2015b at a ubuntu 14.04. Which is a workstation so I have to connect to it by ssh. I download the installer and follow the step, specify all the parameters I need in the installer_input.txt.
Below is the parameter:
destinationFolder=/home/ubuntu/Matlab
fileInstallationKey=xxxxxxxxx
agreeToLicense=yes
outputFile=/tmp/mathworks_ubuntu.log
mode=silent
licensePath=/home/ubuntu/license.lic
toolbox and module part I changed nothing for fully installation.
After this setting, I run ./installer -inputFile installer_input.txt, an error occurs and says:
---
(Jan 05, 2017 16:28:16) Error: Unable to locate required installation files. Using a File Installation Key requires you run the installer from a MATLAB DVD or from a directory which contains files previously downloaded via the installer. To obtain the missing files, click Back on the previous screen and select Log in with a MathWorks Account or contact your MATLAB license administrator.
---
But shouldn't the installer download the file I need by itself?
I try the installer on my desktop for GUI installation, it works just fine.
Can somebody help me with the installation on the workstation through SSH?

No, using silent installation requires that you have already downloaded all of the required components (or that you use the dvds)

Run the installer on a different machine and use the download only option. Tell it which architectures you want to download for, and which directory to download into. If you do a custom install you can select which toolbox to download.
Once you have all that, copy or mount the download directory on the Linux machine. cd to the download directory and run the installation from there. If you were not trying to do a non-graphic install that would be
sudo ./install

Hi, on the current installer of Windows R2017b there is no option download only. So how do I get the files?
