How do I transfer a R2006a license to a new computer?

I currently work in a laboratory where we have an old version or MATLAB in an old computer that I would like to transfer to a newer computer. The version of MATLAB we have is 7.2.0.232 (R2006a). I'm unsure of who originally purchased this license but it was issued to Biomedical Engineering at UTMB (my school). Is there a way to recover this license?

It depends a bit on the type of license that is. So if the R2006a installation still exists, run the "license" command in the MATLAB command window and call MathWorks installation support with this information and your question.
