How to apply time domain gating to the impulse response data?

I have a data with 401 samples over a range of frequency and i have converted the frequency response data into impulse response data in time domain. Now I want to apply gating over certain interval? How do I apply gating to the impulse response and sample the gated signal to have again 401 samples?
