Automated GUI test like abbot?

Hello guys,
The last time this question was asked was 2009 with zero replies. So I'll ask it again for 2016, has anyone ever manage to use any java coded UI test generator like Abbot with matlab?
I have GUIs which I test by through coded UI tests by searching for their tags but this is very slow to create. Abbot would be nice. Thanks, Z
