How do I solve "Cannot write value: unsupported class matlab.gra​phics.prim​itive.Surf​ace"

I needed to write a geologic model plot I generated using pcolor plot to binary output file but got the error "Cannot write value: unsupported class matlab.graphics.primitive.Surface". Please any help would be appreciated. I have gone through the threads here and so far no help.
