What is the best way to plot phase portraits in the (x,y) plane for a three dimensional system?

I have a three dimensional ODE and I want to plot phase portraits for different values of constant b. What is the best way to do this? I already found the "quiver" command, but I exactly want matlab to plot different orbits.
