Reading data from a .NET object and asynchronous save to file

Hi guys,

I'm wondering if there is a way to read continuously data from a device (serial port or a .NET library in my case) into a double buffer in Matlab and asynchronously write the not used one to a file without interruption of the data catpuring process using a thread, callback or something else?
