Meshing failed with a hmax of...

Dear all, I have referred to previous answers however their solutions don't often work in my case. When I attempt to run a generateMesh on my imported 3D model, it returns with "Meshing failed with a Hmax of 248.231501, adjusting Hmax may resolve the problem." I have tried to alter the meshing parameters to no success. I am at a point where I have reduced the Hmax so much that Matlab doesn't seem to ever finish the run.

If someone could help me in this, it would be much appreciated.

I compromised on the object by simplifying it, i.e. smoothing it out. So that it didn't involve so many faces to then have to mesh later.

I am glad you were able to workaround the problem. If you can send the problematic geometry to us we can investigate the cause of failure. This would enable us to improve the code so you and possibly others don't encounter a similar problem in the future.
