uicontrol slider with fixed height?

Hello, I add to an existing figure/uitab/uipanel with an axes object two sliders and two smaller axes (see screenshot). The sliders unit is set to normalized, to be capable to change the position/size when the figure is resized. But that changes also the height of the slider and with higher resolutiuons, they look ugly. Is there a way to keep the height of the sliders fixed? If I set there Units to pixel, it doesn't change the position/size when the figure is resized. I could init and call a own resize function for the figure. But what if the figure already has its own resize function? I hope it comprehensible what I mean. Thank you for ideas/input. Best regards
