mzxmlread function does not read *.mzXML 3.1 format files but 2.1. So, how come an open source software like MSConvert can convert original MS data into mzXML 3.1 files and MATLAB (quite expensive) cannot update its function; part of the bio toolbox?

Dear Ricardo,
You can generate your mzXML file using a version below 2.1. This software can be found at shashimi projects on sourceforge.
On the question why MATLAB can not handle this I have no answer...
