sim() command faster than manual Simulation start?

I just simulated a simple simulink model with two inports. It seems that the sim(gcs) command (4 sec) is twice as fast than a manual (green button) simulation start (8 sec). Is it possible that theres a difference?!?
EDIT: i tried the same with a bigger model: sim(gcs) takes 4.5 min and manual start takes 9 min
