How do I buy a MATLAB License on the Webstore?

What are my options for buying a MATLAB License? Can MATLAB be purchased online on the MathWorks website?

There are several different types of MATLAB Licenses. Which one is appropriate for you or your organization depends on your use case. The four most common types of MATLAB License are:

• MATLAB Student
• MATLAB Home
• MATLAB Academic
• MATLAB Standard

MATLAB Student Licenses are available to students who are currently enrolled at a degree-granting institution.

Before purchasing MATLAB Student you should check to see if your school has a MATLAB License available for student use. Contact your school's help desk or IT department for more information.

MATLAB Home is for non-commercial MATLAB users who are enthusiasts or learning MATLAB on their own.

There are a number of products that are not available for the Home license.

There are some products not available for Student license. Few of the code generation products for example. The student licence also has some Simulink limits.

You need to be a student enrolled in an institution to use the student license, and in theory only for the purpose of doing work required for the degree.

Most products are available for Academic, but you need to be faculty or staff to buy the license.

Standard license is unrestricted.

The only "suite" that Mathworks markets is Student Suite, which is a bundle of (I think it is) 11 Mathworks products.

As far as I know, there are no toolboxes that are not available for Standard licenses but are available for one of the other kinds of licenses. (Perhaps one of the academic grading services... I have not had reason to look into those.)

"Standard" is a license class that permits commercial use. It is not a "suite": you have to purchase a license for each toolbox you want to use.
