MATLAB does NOT start

Just downloaded MATLAB 2014a Student version 64-bit from my university. When double-clicking, there is no response. When trying to activate, I get an error message: "Installer Error The installer could not start the JVM. Could not find file C:\Users\[Name]\Desktop\sys\java\jre\win64\jre/bin/server/jvm.dll."

The file was downloaded through a VPN - AnyConnect access to my college's network.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
