Matlab keeps asking for activation on Windows8

Hi,
I recently ended a trial and then upgraded to a student license for my PC.
However despite being able to activate successfully matlab keeps launching the activation module on startup.
I am using Windows 8. I have tried both online and offline activation.
The activation creates a .lic file which looks good.
I have tried also uninstalling and re-installing. Deleting the preferences etc.
Can you please help.
Bruce

If you purchased the products in different version such as 2012a of Matlab(matlab 7.1) and 2012b of Simulink(matlab 8.0),
then , you need to get the license file for 2012a and not for 2012b.
If you download(or get) the license file for 2012b , you will get the license only for simmulink, so it will be not activated Matlab fully.

Someone reported a while ago that if they run the activation as Administrator then it worked permanently.

Hi,
I found a soloution to the problem.
I can run Matlab from the command line with the -c option and then specify the path the license file.
matlab.exe -c "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\MathWorks\MATLAB\R2015a_licenses\license_R2015a.lic"
(Matlab.exe still opens up the activation tool)
Thanks for the help anyway.
