How can I perform time averaging of a signal acquired with an accelerometer?

Hi, I'm trying to process some acceleration datas of a vibrating object acquired with an accelerometer. I want to perform time averaging in order to reduce noise as much as I can, but I'm not quite sure about how to compute it. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated and I thank you all in advance.
