"The MathWorks" or simply "MathWorks"?

There used to be a lot of references to "The MathWorks", but these days, the definite article "The" only appears on 3rd party sites. MathWorks itself seems to refer only to "MathWorks" without the definite article "The". Is this the authoritatively correct way now? Was there a point at which it changed? How formal is this anyway?
P.S. I appreciate the responses, but I'm not sure how to go about marking one (if any) as the answer given the weird discrepancy between the company's instruction to not use "The" versus the fact that it's legal corporate name includes "The".

According to this MathWorks Brand Guidelines page, use MathWorks to refer to the company. The legal name of the company is The MathWorks which is used in copyright lines and trademark notices.
