Execution of script rainflow as a function is not supported, then gives the path of the rainflow.m file.

When running my own script or a demo script, i get the same eror message mentioned in the summary (Execution of script rainflow as a function is not supported:), why is this? ay help would be much appreciated.

i am calling the script through "dataDirectory...../Mlife/Source" where "MLife is a MatLab-based tool created to post-process results from wind turbine tests, and aero-elastic, dynamic simulations". Mlife has the rainflow.m inside of it.

dataDirectory = '/Users/jamesmorrison/Documents/Uni_work/Year 4/Semester 1/Project/Open Fast/OpenFast/MLife/Source'

this is the directory, and inside of 'source', is a folder called rainflow which houses the rainflow.m file.

Inside the rainflow.m file the output says:

OUTPUT

% rf - rainflow cycles: matrix 3xn or 5xn dependend on input,

% rf(1,:) Cycles amplitude,

% rf(2,:) Cycles mean value,

% rf(3,:) Number of cycles (0.5 or 1.0),

% rf(4,:) Begining time (when input includes dt or extt data),

% rf(5,:) Cycle period (when input includes dt or extt data),

That's all alright, but it does not answer the question I asked nor provides the information I requested.

Run the command "cd" in the command window to see what the current directory of MATLAB is.

If it is same as the directory you have mentioned, that's good. If it is not, you will have to either change the current directory or add that directory to the current path.

hi, apologies the output of the command is :

/Users/jamesmorrison/Library/Application Support/MathWorks/MATLAB Add-Ons/Collections/Rainflow Counting Algorithm/rainflow.m.

and when I type cd it is not the correct directory, as i am a novice, I am unsure on how to change this.
