The issue I am running into is I cannot open the addon explorer. The "Get Add Ons" tab is visible in the dropdown but nothing happens when I click on it. I installed the package manually on a linux machine into a nonstandard location since the package manager would upgrade/downgrade the existing installation when I tried to install a second version. The machine has the 2023b in the /opt/bin folders and the according simlinks there, but the 2018b tarball was extracted to the /usr/local directory. There is also a 2019b version extracted the same way, where I can access the add on manager.
I have made sure to set the correct pathdef.m files for each installation but there isn't any command line output. I am currently trying to install the Bioinformatics toolbox, and am approaching this from fixing the add on explorer, though would headless addon installations would work too (without the downloaded file). I know that this is available through my license because it is an available option on the installer. I thought about doing a reinstall with that option selected, but would like to avoid that if possible. I can also provide more information as it becomes necessary for searching for issues.

I'm not sure how to get details. Matlab opens normally, the pathdef's are all in order, all functionality seems to be in order. I click on the Add Ons Explorer and nothing happens. It works 2019b, 2021b, and 2023b.

Hi Alexander,
From what I understand, you're facing an issue while trying to open the "Add-ons Explorer" in R2018b (on Linux).
I was able to reproduce this issue.
A simple workaround is to install additional toolboxes using the MathWorks Installer. Note that you do not need to reinstall MATLAB if you select the same installation folder. Refer to this link for details: www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/101885-how-do-i-install-additional-toolboxes-into-an-existing-installation-of-matlab
Fixing this issue requires the exclusion of certain system libraries that are shipped with MATLAB. I was able to fix this issue, following the steps described in this answer: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/364551-why-is-matlab-unable-to-run-the-matlabwindow-application-on-linux#answer_593543
Hope this helps!
