Hi,
I just found a seemingly random folder on my D drive (named b0e04637d5add49a03). After showing hidden files I found a MATLAB Traceability File with the name $shtdwn$.req. What is it? And can I get rid of it without breaking anything and if so how? Because although I am the administrator I can't delete the file or folder. If I try to delete the entire folder as administrator it says that I need authoriziation from"SYSTEM". I use MATLAB R2021a.
Thanks in advance

Hi Otto,
As per my understanding, the folder ‘b0e04637d5add49a03’ you are referring to is a temporary folder generally created during Windows updates and is unrelated to MATLAB.
The folder automatically gets removed after running the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.
