HOW TO CHANGE THE SETTING PERMANENTLY IN PREFERENCES FOR SAVING OPERATIONS?

While saving a variable of more than 2 GB as a mat file , I get an error message; stating--"Save operation failed.This version cannot be saved to a MAT-file whose version is older than 7.3, because it is too large.Would you like to save with version 7.3? This setting can be changed permanently in Preferences."

After clicking OK I get the variable saved. But i want to permanently change this setting in the preferences.

Preferences -> General -> MAT-Files -> (*) MATLAB Version 7.3 or later (save -v7.3)
