Scatter datatips won’t display with callback

I plotted a scatterplot and added datatips. This worked successfully. Then I added a callback function to the scatterplot using the ‘ButtonDownFcn’ property and now my datatips won’t display. Is there some property I need to set so these 2 things work together?

You can enable datatip using a couple of commands: see DOC1

I tried these methods and they don’t work when you have a Callback function for the scatterplot.
