MATLAB crash on Windows 8 64-bit with AMD A8-6410

I'm relatively new to MATLAB, and my research professor has me using it to run simulations and such. The program and its subprograms work fine on the university desktops, which are connected to an Intel Xeon processor, I believe, but when I try to run them on my laptop (the AMD machine) I get the "Illegal Instruction" error message and the crash dump that comes with it. I've seen some ways to go about fixing this, but there are two problems: 1) I don't know too much about MATLAB, and since I'm running it on an academic license through VPN, I don't want to mess anything up; and 2) it's the brand new version of MATLAB (R2015a), so I'm not sure if anything's changed between versions.
Any help would be appreciated. A .txt of the most recent crash dump is attached. Also, as a side note: MATLAB seems to run small, basic computational programs without an issue.
