MATLAB Activation is complete but launching MATLAB it asks for activation

I have activated my MATLAB R2012b through the ACTIVATE dialog box & it returns ACTIVATION COMPLETE. However, when I go to launch MATLAB the ACTIVATE dialog box pops back up & presumably wants me to ACTIVATE again. I do so & it returns ACTIVATION COMPLETE. Again, I attempt to launch MATLAB & it reoccurs.

What is wrong? I am using the .lic file that I have always used. I have attached that file, but changed the extension to .txt so that I could attach it to this correspondence.

you should upload the license file as .lic ,and .txt is for your activation code

What are you talking about? My license file is .lic which is still on my computer with MATLAB. I converted it to .txt to upload to this site because attachments will not accept .lic files.

So look at the file and address the question please. Why is MATLAB not launching with that .lic file which has the contents I sent you as a .txt file?
