Zoom figure generated by 'patch'

I have the following plot generated using 'patch'

and I want to automatically plot it for a region around the arc so that when I plot the same data for different parameters I do not need manually zoomed it, especially because this new plot will unlikely have the same data.

Internally, zooming is accomplished by changing the axis XLim and YLim properties. The zoom-with-mouse tools come down to changing the limits and storing information about the history of the zooming so that the user can undo step by step to get back to previous zoom levels.
