- Check the sample time of the discrete solver: Make sure that the sample time of the discrete solver is appropriate for the simulation. If the sample time is too large, it can cause stability issues in the simulation.
- Check the machine parameters: Make sure that the machine parameters are correct and within the expected range. If the parameters are incorrect, it can cause unexpected behaviour in the simulation.
- Check the initial conditions: Make sure that the initial conditions of the machine model are set correctly. Incorrect initial conditions can cause the simulation to start from an unexpected state.
- Check the simulation settings: Check the simulation settings to ensure that they are appropriate for the simulation. For example, make sure that the simulation time is sufficient for the simulation to reach a steady state.
- Check the measurement port: Check the measurement port to ensure that it is set up correctly to measure the rotor speed. If the measurement port is not set up correctly, it can cause the simulation to produce unexpected results.
How to run synchronous machine PU model using discrete solver setting

Hi, when I try to use synchronous machine pu standard model, irrespective of input I give to the machine I am getting infinte rotor speed when I scope it from the measurement port of the machine model. This is happening if I opt for discrete solver in Powergui block. If I choose continuous solver the model is working fine and I am getting expected results. But since I wanted to run the model in OPAL-RT it is required for me to run the model using discrete solver. I would require support on getting expected output with discrete solver. Thanks in advance

To troubleshoot the issue with infinite rotor speed when using the synchronous machine PU model with a discrete solver in Powergui block, you can try the following steps:
Hopefully, one of the above steps will help you solve the issue.
