error while using houghlines

when Im using houghlines Im getting error like this ..Can someone help me to fix this

So you are using the houghlines() function from C:\Users\naveen\Downloads\houghlines.m, not from matlabroot\toolbox\images\images\houghlines.m?

The error message indicates that the houghlines.m file you have is not a function. Instead, it's a script. Can you open that houghlines.m file to see if its first line is defining it as a function?
