Sliding mode control simulink

Herewith my simulation and example from Book 'sliding mode control and observation'(Yuri Shtessel)
I try to get similar pic, but i do not know where is my problem.
I set fixed-step as 0.0001 for reaching phase. scope shows zero always.

Do any of the integrators have a non-zero initial condition?
Also, might want to consider using a variable step solver, which will do a better job of catching the sign changes in the input to the Sign block.
