How to set the path to the Python executable using ROS Toolbox preferences

122 Ansichten (letzte 30 Tage)
Hi When I try to run the 'rosinit' command on Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS for R2022b, I got the following error:
Path to Python Executable is not set. Set the path to the Python executable using ROS Toolbox preferences.
Therefore, I put the path to the python executable with ROS Toolbox preferences. However, I got the error message below.
In addition, when I run the 'pyenv', I got the below.
Although I checked the previous questions about this problem, I could not solve this problem.
Thank you for your help.

Hi Ryo,
The error message is confusing. Team is working on to imporve the error message.
Can you please use the version 3.9.13 and use the above UI to set the path and let me know if it does not work.
Thanks,
Jagadeesh K.

Please do not change anything inside the MATLAB installation directory. Please install python outside of MATLAB installation directory. I guess you may have to reinstall your MATLAB.

I had the same issue with Python3.9.16 and Python3.9.15.
As suggested by @Jagadeesh Konakalla, installing Python3.9.13 and setting the right path in ROS toolbox solved the problem.
I followed this guide to install a specific sub-version of Python3.9.X.

Hi there,
This is still problematic because even after providing a python 3.9.13 interpreter, (see screenshot of ubuntu terminal) this won't work. Setting the python interpreter with pyenv('Version', '/usr/bin/python3') will still identify a python 3.8. Same happens when using the ROS Toolbox UI.

From the attched errors, i see that you provided 3.8 which is not supported. I requested to use the 3.9.x version of python. If you provide the path of 3.9.x, it should work.
