Checking out MATLAB’s documentation for Problem-Based solvers would be a helpful starting point since your goal is to find the minimum of a symbolic function (e.g., the difference of your two functions).

Since this looks like a homework problem, it’s probably best that you use the symbolic toolbox to find the values where your function extrema occur by setting it’s derivative equal to zero.
