We have some ultra critical machines with network licenses. Because it is absolutely imperative that matlab be available we also have a local license file. How do I configure the license file to use the network license first, but fail over to the local license if unavailable. we use a nu,ber of different releases.

It is not immediately clear to me why you do not just always use the local license?
If the local licence has fewer toolboxes and fallover state runs on restricted features then you could achieve that by having the local more restricted license but also have the license path refer to the server license: the server would be examined for toolboxes not locally available. But I would still be concerned about handling of the failure, which would effectively withdraw licenses from service... that could get tricky.

Hey Edward,
I understand that you want to use your use local licence if the network licence is not available.
You can take help by contacting the MathWorks Customer Support, to merge local and network licenses and that should be able to resolve your issues.
Please check this link to a MATLAB answer, regarding serving multiple MathWorks licenses, that might be useful. https://in.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/93517-how-do-i-serve-multiple-mathworks-licenses-from-the-same-network-license-manager
I hope this helps!
