Why do I see the following error when I try to launch MATLAB?

Use a different email address or go to your MathWorks Account to link a license. After the license is linked, try again.

If you are receiving this error, it means that your MathWorks account is not tied to the license type that MATLAB is activated with or your account cannot access the release you're attempting to use. Please note that trial licenses are tied to one single release of MATLAB. Clicking the link in the error will bring you to your MathWorks Account page where you can link to a license.
