Hi everyone,
I am trying to model the temperature change of a wire embedded in a polymer material (see figure below). On the other hand, I would like to monitor the temperature change at the upper surface. My question is if it is possible to use the "Temperature Sensor" block to measure a specific point (e.g. the midpoint) of the temperature on the top side?
Thanks in advance
Ozan

As far as I know, you cannot read the tempertaure at a specified location in a body using "Temperature Sensor" block. Simscape models are lumped parameter models, meaning that each block represents a "lumped" average state of a component. For example, volume of the tank block has an average temperature, rather than a distribution of temperatures. In some cases, like the pipe, a temperature distribution is assumed to calculate heat transfer accurately, but the state of the block is still just a lumped temperature value.
