Wavelet Analyzer for Features Extraction.....How do we use Wavelet Analyzer to Extract Features of a signal. What are the features we can extract using it

I Have a signal and I used Wavelet Analyzer to extract the features.In Wavelet Analyzer I have seen residuals(like Mean,Median etc).Is residuals are Features .If not then how can I extadct the Features from a signal using Wavelet Analyzer.If they are Features then how can i use wavelet transform to extarct multiple signal featutres.
