Why do I get the error "Undefined function or variable"?

when i enter this command

[A1 c]=averageValue(R,ps,pt,alpha,rs,cs);

A=[ ]

i face the error.

Did you give senseful values to R,ps,pt,alpha,rs,cs ?

Do you have a function file named "averageValue.m" in your working directory ?

Not sure why taht error message is confusing but it's saying that one or more of the variables R,ps,pt,alpha,rs,cs has not been assigned yet. Or the function averageValue has not been defined in your code and is not in any m-file on the search path.
